Old English A Hot Mulled Cider

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 quarts apple cider
  • 2 quarts grape juice, red
  • 2 cups orange juice
  • 3 lemons, sliced
  • 3 oranges, sliced
  • 2 pieces candied ginger
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 whole cloves
  • 2 cardamom pods
  • 1 cup brandy

Recipe

  • 1 mix the cider, juices, lemons, and oranges in a large saucepan or dutch oven.
  • 2 tie ginger and spices in a cheesecloth bag; add to saucepan.
  • 3 heat to boiling; reduce heat.
  • 4 simmer, uncovered, 15 minute
  • 5 remove spice bag.
  • 6 stir in brandy.
  • 7 serve warm in chafing dish or heat-proof punch bowl.
  • 8 serves 36 (1/2 cup each).
