Old English Cream Pie

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 16
  • 2 quarts milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 3 eggs, beaten
  • 2 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1 1/4 cups cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 in a sauce pan, combine milk and butter.
  • 2 bring to a boil.
  • 3 mix a medium bowl, combine eggs, sugar, cornstarch and salt.
  • 4 slowly whisk 1 c.
  • 5 hot milk mix.
  • 6 into egg.
  • 7 gradually whisk egg back to remaining milk mix.
  • 8 continue to cook, stirring constantly for 5 min.
  • 9 remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  • 10 allow to cool.
