Old English Cream Pie

Ingredients

- 2 quarts milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 3 eggs, beaten
- 2 1/4 cups sugar
- 1 1/4 cups cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
Recipe
- 1 in a sauce pan, combine milk and butter.
- 2 bring to a boil.
- 3 mix a medium bowl, combine eggs, sugar, cornstarch and salt.
- 4 slowly whisk 1 c.
- 5 hot milk mix.
- 6 into egg.
- 7 gradually whisk egg back to remaining milk mix.
- 8 continue to cook, stirring constantly for 5 min.
- 9 remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- 10 allow to cool.
