Dot's Cake

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 50 mins

Ingredients

  • 6 ounces butter
  • 6 ounces sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 6 ounces cornflour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder

Recipe

  • 1 cream together the butter & sugar until light and fluffy with an electric mixer.
  • 2 add eggs and cornflour and beat for 6 minutes on medium speed.
  • 3 fold in the baking powder.
  • 4 pour into a greased & lined reasonably deep 8" tin.
  • 5 bake for 50-60 minutes at 350'f.
  • 6 remove from oven when a cake tester comes out clean.
  • 7 stand for 10 minutes before removing from tin.
  • 8 enjoy with a nice cup of tea or coffee.
  • 9 optional: a larger cake can be made by increasing butter, sugar and cornflour to 9oz each and bake in a 10" tin.
