Dutch Honey Bread

Ingredients
- 3/4 cup honey
- 3/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 1/2 cups rye flour
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons baking soda
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon allspice
- 1 dash salt
- 2 cups milk
- 3 tablespoons orange marmalade
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350°f.
- 2 beat honey and sugar until mixture turns light.
- 3 sift together flours, baking soda, spices and salt.
- 4 mix into honey mixture alternately with milk, starting and ending with dry ingredients.
- 5 stir in marmalade and mix well.
- 6 pour batter into a large loaf pan.
- 7 bake for about 1 1/4 hours, or until a cake tester comes out clean.
- 8 if the top browns too quickly, cover with foil.
- 9 cool wrapped in a towel.
