Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 2 large carrots, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 medium red bell peppers or 1 medium green bell pepper, cut into 1/2 inch pieces
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can cannellini beans or 1 (15 ounce) can great northern beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 (14 1/2 ounce) can italian-style stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 lb boneless skinless chicken thighs, cut into 1 inch pieces
  • 1/2 lb cooked smoked turkey sausage, halved lengthwise and cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 1 1/2 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup dry white

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper (or to taste)
  • 1 bay leaf

Recipe

  • 2 1/2 cups finely grated old cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices cooked bacon (cook until crisp and then crumble very finely)
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped (or use 1 small yellow onion)
  • 2 tablespoons bottled prepared horseradish (can use less)
  • 1 pinch garlic powder
  • seasoning salt (or use white salt)
  • black pepper
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper, add for extra heat (optional)

  • 5 cups large broccoli florets
  • 4 cups large cauliflower florets
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 4 ounces cubed cream cheese
  • 1/4 cup milk

  • 10 ritz crackers, crushed
  • 3 tablespoons parmesan cheese

  • 1 combine veggies in a 2 quart microwaveable casserole. add water and cover. microwave on high 8-10 minutes or until vegetables are tender. drain.
  • 2 microwave cream cheese and milk in a small bowl for 1 minute or until the cream cheese is melted. stir mixture until well blended, stir in sour cream. pour over veggies, sprinkle with cheese and microwave for 2 minutes or until cheese is melted.

  • 2 -3 bananas
  • 4 -6 tablespoons granulated sugar (or more)
  • cooking spray (regular or butter flavor)

Recipe

  • 1 slice bananas into thick coins or lengthwise strips, depending on your preference.
  • 2 pour sugar a plate. roll bananas in sugar, until completely coated.
  • 3 spray a medium size nonstick pan, and heat over medium high heat. add bananas and sugar.
  • 4 cook bananas until light to golden brown underneath, about 4-5 minutes (you can lift with a spatula or fork to peek). be careful not to overcook or burn them (if you smell them browning, or see color in the pan, flip them right away). keep in mind these times will vary, depending on your stove.
  • 5 gently flip bananas over to brown other side, turning heat down to medium. the second side will brown in about one minute.
  • 6 transfer to a plate that has been coated with cooking spray (otherwise they may stick - they are ooey gooey and sticky!) and serve. alternately, slide them right your ice cream or breakfast food.

Easy Caramello Chocolate Mousse

Ingredients

  • 250 g cadbury caramello chocolate bars, broken into squares (i think hershey make caramello chocolate in the usa)
  • 300 ml whipping cream (unwhipped)

Recipe

  • 1 melt the chocolate in the top of a double boiler, stirring constantly until there are no lumps.
  • 2 add 150ml of the cream and stir to combine.
  • 3 put to one side until the mixture is cool (i have even cheated if i am in a hurry& put this in the fridge/freezer, but just watch it doesn't freeze otherwise it will be ruined).
  • 4 when cool, whip the remaining cream in a bowl.
  • 5 spoon the chocolate mixture into the whipped cream, and fold until well combined.
  • 6 cover with plastic wrap and leave in the fridge until set.
  • 7 you can also pour this into individual ramekins if you are having a dinner party, and then garnish with chocolate shavings before serving.
  • 8 this is really quite rich so a little goes a long way.
  • 9 you can also use mint chocolate (with a flowing centre) but the caramello tastes much better.

  • 1/2 cup purchased caramel ice cream topping (i used smuckers for this)
  • 4 -5 chocolate candy bars, coarsely chopped (purchase the regular-size bars, skor or crispy crunch is good)

  • 1 in a trifle or glass bowl spread about 1/3 of the cake cubes over bottom.
  • 2 in a large bowl beat the whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
  • 3 fold in the caramel topping.
  • 4 spoon half of the caramel whipping cream mixture over the cake cubes in the bowl(it does not have to cover all the cake cubes totally).
  • 5 sprinkle half of the chopped candy bars over the whipped cream.

  • toss strawberries with brown sugar in a bowl and let stand while you complete remaining steps, about 30 minutes.
  • preheat oven to 350 degrees f (175 degrees c).

  • drain juice from strawberries and layer them into the bottom of the baked pie shell. spread cream custard over the berries; refrigerate until set, about 4 hours.
  • set oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source and preheat the oven's broiler.
  • sprinkle 1/4 cup white sugar evenly over top of pie and broil until the sugar is browned, about 5 minutes. let pie stand 5 minutes for sugar topping to cool before serving.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups self-rising flour
  • 1/2 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 5 ounces cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup low-fat buttermilk

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 375 degrees.
  • 2 lightly butter a 9" x 5" x 3" pan.
  • 3 in a food processor, combine the flours, mustard, salt, baking powder, baking soda and sugar; pulse 2-3 times to blend. add the butter and process for 10-15 seconds, or until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. set aside one tablespoon of the cheese and one tablespoon of the walnuts for the topping and add the rest to the food processor, pulsing 8-10 times to blend.
  • 4 add the eggs and buttermilk and process for 10-20 seconds, or until a soft dough forms. spoon into the prepared pan, smooth the top with a rubber spatula that has been dipped in buttermilk, and sprinkle the remaining cheese and walnuts over the top.
  • 5 bake for 35-40 minutes or until a skewer inserted into the center comes out clean. remove from the oven and let cool on a wire rack before slicing.

Easy Cedar Plank Salmon

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 cedar plank (6 by 14 inches)
  • 2 salmon fillets (1 1/2 pounds total)
  • salt & freshly ground black pepper
  • 6 tablespoons dijon mustard
  • 6 tablespoons brown sugar

Recipe

  • 1 soak cedar plank in salted water for 2 hours, then drain. remove skin from salmon fillet. remove any remaining bones. rinse the salmon under cold running water and pat dry with paper towels. generously season the salmon with salt and pepper on both sides. lay the salmon (on what was skin-side down) on the cedar plank and carefully spread the mustard over the top and sides. place the brown sugar in a bowl and crumble between your fingers, then sprinkle over the mustard.
  • 2 set grill for indirect grilling and heat to medium-high. place the cedar plank in the center of the hot grate, away from the heat. cover the grill and cook until cooked through, around 20 to 30 minutes. the internal temperature should read 135 degrees f. transfer the salmon and plank to a platter and serve right off the plank.

  • 2 chicken breasts
  • 1 lime
  • salt

  • 1 lb mexican blend cheese
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 (4 ounce) can green chilies
  • 10 small flour tortillas
  • 1 (14 ounce) can enchilada sauce

  • 1 cut the chicken breast in to cubes. cook on stove top. while cooking squeeze 1/2 lime on it and salt and pepper to your taste.
  • 2 when the chicken is cooked dice it up as small as you like i like them very small.
  • 3 cut the small onion up as fine as you like. once again i like mine very small.
  • 4 put in a large bowl for mixing the chicken,cheese,sour cream,onion,chilies.
  • 5 mix throughout.
  • 6 get a casserole dish spray with pam.
  • 7 put a few large spoonfuls of the mix in each tortilla.
  • 8 when they are all in the dish put the enchilada sauce on top.
  • 9 put in the oven at 350 for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese starts melting out of the enchiladas.

  • 1 cut the cabbage leaves into small pieces.
  • 2 slice the onions into small pieces.
  • 3 cut the green chillies as well.
  • 4 mix the cut cabbage leaves, onions, green chillies with salt and keep aside for 10 minutes.

  • 6 make a dough with water.
  • 7 it should be thick like vada batter.

fresh peach dessert

  • 4 1/2 cups miniature marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 pint heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup white sugar
  • 6 large fresh peaches - peeled, pitted and sliced

Recipe

    Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 10 mins Ready Time: 40 mins

  • combine the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 1/2 cup sugar in a mixing bowl. mix until evenly moistened, reserve 1/4 cup of the mixture for the topping. press the remaining mixture into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  • heat marshmallows and milk in a large saucepan over low heat and stir until the marshmallows are completely melted. remove from heat and cool.
  • whip cream in a large bowl until soft peaks form. beat in 1/3 cup sugar until the cream forms stiff peaks. fold the whipped cream into the cooled marshmallow mixture.
  • spread 1/2 the cream mixture over the crust, arrange the peaches on top of the cream, then spread the remaining cream mixture over the peaches. sprinkle the reserved crumb mixture over the cream. refrigerate until serving.

Easy Chai Creme Caramel (aka Chai Flan De Leche)

  • 2 (105 g) packages dr. oetker caramel creme dessert mix (dr. oetker is vegetarian)
  • 400 ml milk
  • 1 cinnamon stick, broken into several pieces
  • 4 whole green cardamom pods
  • 2 slices fresh ginger or 2 slices candied ginger

Recipe

  • 1 divide caramel sauce equally into ramekins, one for each serving. make sure a thin coat of caramel covers the bottom of each ramekin. set these aside.
  • 2 dissolve contents of custard mix into 125ml of milk and whisk until blended.
  • 3 put remaining milk and whole spices in a saucepan and bring to a boil over medium heat.
  • 4 reduce heat slightly and add custard mixture, whisking vigorously.
  • 5 bring just to a boil again, and keep stirring so no lumps form. the allow to simmer for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.
  • 6 skim spices out of liquid. (or pour mixture through small mesh strainer in the next step.).
  • 7 gently pour liquid into ramekins, making sure not to disturb the caramel coating the base of each one.
  • 8 chill ramekins until set. (this takes approximately 45 minutes in my refridgerator.)
  • 9 remove ramekins from refridgerator. put a serving plate against top of a ramekin, , hold them together, and flip them upside down in a fast motion so the creme caramel flops out of the ramekin and the serving plate. let it sit for a minute to allow the caramel to run over the custard before removing ramekin. repeat this for each serving. (this is quite easy and the result looks impressive.).
  • 10 enjoy!

  • 12 chewy chocolate-covered caramel candies, unwrapped

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 350 degrees f.
  • 2 for each cookie, shape 1 unbaked cookie around 1 caramel candy, covering completely.
  • 3 place cookies, with thickest part of dough down, 2 /2 inches apart on ungreased large cookie sheet.
  • 4 bake at 350 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown. cool 2 minutes. remove from cookie sheet; place on wire racks. cool 15 minutes or until completely cooled.
  • 5 in a small microwave-safe bowl, combine chocolate and shortening. microwave on high for 30 seconds. stir; continue microwaving, stirring every 10 seconds, until chocolate is melted and can be stirred smooth. drizzle chocolate over cooled cookies. let stand until chocolate is set before storing.
  • 6 note: can bake on parchment paper lined cookie sheet if you are worried about the caramel coming out. if caramel does come out, allow to cool before trying to remove from sheet.

  • 1 cup pecan halves
  • 2 (10 ounce) cans refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
  • 20 milk chocolate kisses, unwrapped

Recipe

  • 1 spread frosting in bottom of a lightly greased 9-inch square baking pan.
  • 2 arrange pecan halves over frosting.
  • 3 set aside.
  • 4 seperate biscuits; flatten each to 1/4" thickness.
  • 5 place a chocolate kiss to one side of the center of the biscuit.
  • 6 fold biscuit in half, forming a semi-circle; press edges gently together to seal in chocolate kiss.
  • 7 repeat proceedure with remaining biscuits and kisses.

  • 4 the flap steak has the texture and fat content to come out'just right'.
  • 5 mix your marinade together in a bowl large enough to hold all plus the meat.
  • 6 place the meat in the marinade, cover and refrigerate for 24 hours.

  • 1 line 9-inch round cake pan with plastic wrap, with ends of plastic wrap extending over side of pan. stand 14 of the cookies around edge of pan. crush remaining 10 cookies. reserve 1/2 cup of the cookie crumbs for later use; sprinkle remaining crumbs bottom of pan. spread strawberry ice cream over crumbs; top with 1 cup of the whipped topping and the reserved 1/2 cup crumbs. cover with chocolate ice cream.
