Dutch Delicious Apple Pie

Ingredients

- 1 9" unbaked pie shell
- 6 cups thinly sliced apples
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons flour
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 tablespoons flour
Recipe
- 1 crumb topping: blend together the butter, sugar and flour to form crumbles. set aside.
- 2 line pie pan with pastry.
- 3 preheat oven to 400 degrees f.
- 4 arrange apples in neat rings in pan.
- 5 place sugar, flour, salt, ginger and cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
- 6 stir in cream gradually blending as it is added. pour over apples.
- 7 cover with aluminum foil.
- 8 bake until apples are soft, about 40 minutes.
- 9 remove foil, sprinkle crumb topping over pie and bake about 10 to 15 minutes more, until top is nicely browned.
