Dutch Delicious Apple Pie

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 9" unbaked pie shell
  • 6 cups thinly sliced apples
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 3 tablespoons flour

Recipe

  • 1 crumb topping: blend together the butter, sugar and flour to form crumbles. set aside.
  • 2 line pie pan with pastry.
  • 3 preheat oven to 400 degrees f.
  • 4 arrange apples in neat rings in pan.
  • 5 place sugar, flour, salt, ginger and cinnamon in a mixing bowl.
  • 6 stir in cream gradually blending as it is added. pour over apples.
  • 7 cover with aluminum foil.
  • 8 bake until apples are soft, about 40 minutes.
  • 9 remove foil, sprinkle crumb topping over pie and bake about 10 to 15 minutes more, until top is nicely browned.
