Spinach With Roasted Sesame Seed Dressing

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1/3 cup sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup dashi
  • 600 g spinach, trimmed

Recipe

  • 1 toast the seeds in a dry, small frying pan over a medium heat.
  • 2 set 1 tsp of the seeds aside and blend, process or grind the rest until smooth.
  • 3 mix with sugar, sauce and dashi in a jar and shake well until sugar dissolves.
  • 4 wash spinach well.
  • 5 bring a saucepan of water to a boil and immerse the spinach for 30 seconds.
  • 6 drain and rinse under cold water.
  • 7 wrap the leaves in a bamboo mat, roll firmly and gently squeeze out the extra water.
  • 8 place on a plate and top with the dressing.
