Ingredients
- 1 lb chestnuts
- water
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 450°f.
- 2 place chestnuts in cold water; discard those that float.
- 3 dry and slit each shell 1/2 to 3/4 inch on each side.
- 4 place in a saucepan, add oil and shake pan over heat for five minutes.
- 5 roast in oven for another five minutes.
- 6 when cool enough to handle, remove shells and brown skin underneath with a sharp paring knife.
