Scottish Tablet

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 ounces butter
  • 1/2 can condensed milk

Recipe

  • 1 place sugar, milk, and butter into a large saucepan and bring to a slow boil.
  • 2 slowly boil for 5 minutes.
  • 3 add the 1/2 tin condensed milk and boil slowly for another 5 minutes.
  • 4 test a teaspoon full in a cup of cold water.
  • 5 if it forms at the bottom of the cup it's ready.
  • 6 take off heat and beat until it thickens and is sugary.
  • 7 pour into a greased tray and cut into squares.
  • 8 let stand at room temp overnight.
