Dutch Bread Dish With Raisins

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 18 slices stale bread
  • 2 cups milk, warmed
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 3 ounces raisins
  • 3 ounces candied orange peel
  • 1/2 cup
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 egg whites, beaten stiff
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Recipe

  • 1 soften bread in warm milk and mash it fine. add egg yolks, sugar, raisins, peel, and cinnamon. mix well.
  • 2 fold in beaten egg whites.
  • 3 pour into buttered ovenproof dish. dot with butter. bake at 325 for 1/2 hour.
