Double Almond Crunch Toffee

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 cup coarsely chopped almonds
  • 1 cup finely chopped almonds
  • 1 cup butter
  • 1 1/3 cups sugar
  • 1 tablespoon light corn syrup
  • 3 tablespoons water
  • 1 bag chocolate chips

Recipe

  • 1 spread almonds in seperate shallow pans.
  • 2 place in low temp oven to roast them until light brown.
  • 3 meanwhile melt butter over low heat in a 2 qt pan.
  • 4 add sugar,corn syrup and water.
  • 5 cook,stirring occasionally to hard crack stage (300) watch close,when it gets to 280,quickly stir in coarse chopped nuts.
  • 6 spread in ungreased pan.
  • 7 cool.
  • 8 spread with melted chocolate chips.
  • 9 sprinkle with nuts.
  • 10 flip over wax paper.
  • 11 spread more chocolate and nuts.
