Dutch Apple Dessert

Total Time: 1 hr Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 9
  • 5 medium apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 (300 ml) can eagle brand sweetened condensed milk (regular or low-fat)
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1 cup biscuit baking mix
  • 1/2 cup biscuit baking mix
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons cold butter
  • 1/3 cup nuts, chopped

Recipe

  • 1 with food processor, mix butter and biscuit mix until crumbly. stir into apple mixture. pour into parchment paper lined 9" square baking dish.
  • 2 topping: with food processor, mix biscuit mix, brown sugar and butter until crumbly. stir in nuts. sprinkle evenly over apple mixture.
  • 3 bake: bake in preheated 325f oven until golden, about 1 hour. cool slightly on wire rack. serve warm with ice cream if desired.
  • 4 notes: for best results use baking apples such as cortland, empire, or a combination of all three.
