Simple Strawberry Sauce

Ingredients
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup seedless strawberry jam
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 3 tablespoons warm water
Recipe
- 1 whisk together sugar, jam and 1/2 cup water in a small saucepan over medium-high heat until blended.
- 2 bring to a boil.
- 3 reduce heat to medium, stirring constantly for about five minutes, or until jam melts completely.
- 4 simmer 10-15 minutes, until mixture thickens.
- 5 stir together cornstarch and 3 tablespoons warm water in a separate bowl until cornstarch is dissolved.
- 6 stir cornstarch mixture into jam mixture.
- 7 bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then reduce heat and simmer 5-10 minutes.
- 8 remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
- 9 serve warm or at room temperature.
