Parsnips With Dark Beer Glaze

Ingredients

- 1 lb parsnip, cut in small chunks
- 1 cup stout beer or 1 cup brown ale
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
- 2 teaspoons butter
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 combine parsnips, stout, cinnamon, and cloves in a heavy saucepan.
- 2 cover and simmer until barely tender, 8-10 minutes.
- 3 remove cover and simmer hard until liquid reduces to a glaze. stir in butter.
- 4 season to taste with salt and pepper.
