Parsnips With Dark Beer Glaze

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb parsnip, cut in small chunks
  • 1 cup stout beer or 1 cup brown ale
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • salt and pepper

Recipe

  • 1 combine parsnips, stout, cinnamon, and cloves in a heavy saucepan.
  • 2 cover and simmer until barely tender, 8-10 minutes.
  • 3 remove cover and simmer hard until liquid reduces to a glaze. stir in butter.
  • 4 season to taste with salt and pepper.
