- 3 tablespoons shea butter
- 2 tablespoons cocoa butter
- 3 tablespoons baking soda
- 2 tablespoons arrowroot or 2 tablespoons cornstarch
- 2 vitamin e gel caps
- 10 -20 drops essential oils
Recipe
- 1 in a double boiler (or a glass measuring cup in a a pot of simmering water), melt the shea butter and cocoa butter. add the baking soda and arrowroot or cornstarch. puncture the vitamin e gel caps and squeeze the oil into the mixture. give it a good stir.
- 2 when liquefied, remove from the heat and pour into a 1/4 pint jar. stir in the essential oils.
- 3 place in fridge for at least a few hours until solid. take it out and let it come to room temperature. do not store in fridge (vitamin e is a natural preservative). the texture should be between a firm cream and a soft solid.
- 4 to use, scoop out a pea-size amount with your fingers and apply to your armpit. a slightly wet armpit makes it easier to spread. makes enough for three odor-free months.
