Dutch Hache - Stewed Meat

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 1/2 lbs beef, cut up into bite-size pieces
- 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup canola oil
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 cups sliced onions
- 1/4 cup diced celery
- 1 tablespoon vinegar
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 4 peppercorns
- 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme leaves
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon cracked pepper
Recipe
- 1 brown the onions in the butter or oil.
- 2 add flour, mix well and cook 1 minute.
- 3 add beef broth and bring to a boil.
- 4 add all other ingredients.
- 5 lower heat to simmer and cook for at least one hour or until meat is tender.
- 6 adjust seasoning if necessary. you may want more salt.
- 7 serve over mashed potatoes, with cooked cabbage on the side.
