Dutch Kletskopjes (lacy Almond Cookies)

Total Time: 27 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 12 mins

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 7 tablespoons butter
  • 1 cup peeled and coarsely chopped almonds

Recipe

  • 1 knead all ingredients into a firm ball.
  • 2 shape into marble-sized balls and arrange far apart on buttered cookie sheet.
  • 3 flatten with fork or knife dipped in cold water.
  • 4 bake in 375 oven until golden.
  • 5 remove from cookie sheet with spatula.
  • 6 the dough should have melted and become lacy, very thin, and crisp.
  • 7 cookies should be 3" in diameter.
