Homemade Chile Powder

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 20
  • 10 dried hot chili peppers
  • 10 dried ancho peppers (optional)
  • 10 dried chipotle peppers (optional)
  • 10 dried habanero chiles (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 remove stems and seeds.
  • 2 preheat oven to 250°f.
  • 3 roast peppers for 20 minutes.
  • 4 cool.
  • 5 grind in a blender or food processor until they turn to powder.
  • 6 do not inhale the fumes or you'll be sneezing and coughing.
  • 7 this may be stored in the freezer for up to 6 months. the powder can be used straight from the freezer.
