Easy Apple Dumplings

Ingredients
- 5 medium tart apples (or pears)
- 5 refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
- 1 cup sugar (divided)
- 1 1/2 cups water
- 3 tablespoons margarine or 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
Recipe
- 1 core applies. pare or leave skins on.
- 2 roll out each biscuit thinly using a rolling pin. (be sure to dust with flour).
- 3 place an apple in the center of each biscuit.
- 4 fill centers with a mixture of sugar and cinnamon. (1/3 cup sugar and 1/4 tsp cinnamon).
- 5 dot each apple with 2 teaspoons of margarine/butter.
- 6 wrap up with apple in biscuit and seal with fingers.
- 7 boil 2/3 cup sugar and water with 2 tablespoons of margarine/butter for 3 minutes.
- 8 pour syrup around apples in flat casserole dish.
- 9 bake at 425 degrees for 45-50 minutes.
- 10 *best served hot and even better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
